  • Full Name (As per ID)

  • Date of birth
  • If the background check includes an employer or education verification, we collect past employer and school details (such as name and phone number). With certain sources, they would require the document such as Service certificate or Degree copy in order to validate the information. A Minimum Requirement List is included on the Applicant Portal which talks about the required information from the applicants to process the verification.

    Your Social Security number/National ID number helps us return accurate background check results. We validate the provided information against the information that is found against the ID number/SSN number shared form your end. In case of discrepant information, we also check for any aliases or name variations associated with that SSN/ID.

    We make sure that the only Istarga employees who can see your SSN are those who need it to fulfill background check orders or to resolve customer service issues.
    We keep a digital record of every time an Istarga employee accesses someone’s SSN information/ID information, so we know who has looked at your SSN, when, and why.
    We encrypt your SSN to protect it from unauthorized use.

    Turnaround time is subject to the services opted for. Generally Criminal, Credit, ID, MVR, Civil Employment, and Global database can be completed in 24 hours, since the information is available online. Searches involving physical verification could take longer. Education and Address could go up to 4 to 5 business days. On average, we deliver the final report in 5 business days. Also, we are exceptionally fast in processing inquiries.

    Certain crimes need not be reported as per the client protocols such as civil cases. This could include Tort claims, Breach of contract claims, equitable claims, and Landlord/tenant.

    If you see inaccurate information included in your report, you can raise a dispute by writing into applicant.service@istarga.com.

    Once the verification is initiated by the HR or our Operations team, an auto-generated email is sent to your email ID. This email would have a link, which would take you to the applicant portal. You are required to fill in the information and attach documents as mentioned on the portal.

    No, running a background check will not affect your credit score.

    If you decide to share your background check results with an employer, they will see the same results that you see. Employers can run background checks separately, usually during the hiring process. Your employer may choose employee-only options, such as motor vehicle searches, drug screening or employment credit checks. 

    Your Personal Background Check pricing depends on the types of verifications and records searches you need.

    Our Employment verification targets at confirming the applicant’s previous positions held, employment dates, and title(s). Each verification covers a single employer, so the number of employers checked depends on the number of verifications your prospective employer has ordered.

  • We validate the information provided by the source and get the documents authenticated by the regulatory bodies wherever a field visit is initiated. In case there is a discrepancy, we further investigate and procure the corrected information from the source. All the authenticated documents and supporting evidence are attached in the annexure.
